Yamaha DX7: Finished

I finally had some time to fix the DX7. All keys now work the way they should. I also discovered that it has aftertouch. It is fun. After you press a key, if you press harder it activates the LFO. I also figured out what keyboard scaling is. I think that I finally fully understand the DX7. It is a really amazing piece of technology.

  1. Hi George. Thanks for your good introduction to repairing DX7. I have a similar problem after one of my DX7´s took a stagedive during a concert. Nearly 20 keys fell out, but I could set them back using your guide. But I have another problem I wonder if you know a cure to. My other DX is a DX7IID and lately it is stating to play by itself, all random the tones are sounding and just hanging there. Rather annoying. Have you tried that? and do you have a cure? My mail is dogtthorsen@webspeed.dk , I´m from Denmark, and I´ll be happy to hear from you. Regards from Thomas
